Heaven on Earth

Cute saying or reality? Can we live as it is in Heaven, on Earth?

You may have heard in the Lord's prayer , or maybe you've said these words "Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it in in Heaven..." but what does this actually mean? Earth to be like Heaven? How can this be?

Are we asking God to make the Earth a place that's full of Angels floating around, golden streets...?

I think we all know there is something deeper to this prayer. This prayer applies to each of us, and when we ask for God's will to be done and for His Kingdom to come, we're speaking into very specific parts of our lives. We're asking for:

His Presence

God's presence saturates Heaven. "On Earth as in Heaven..." is a prayer for God's spirit to be the dominating spirit in every situation you imagine. Darkness breaks God's heart. It's His will that every inch of Earth be filled with light! And when we, like the Angels, lift up the name of Jesus, when we praise God we're inviting His presence in - on earth just as it is in Heaven. "Where two or more are gathered in my name, I am in their midst."

Matthew 18:20

The Shalom of Heaven

Shalon means to be webbed together with God, in fulfillment and delight. It's the epitome of God's peace, joy, bliss. It is a peace the world can not give. Asking for God to restore Earth to God's Kingdom, is asking for Heavenly Peace, Shalom. This peace is true, it's consistent, and it's greater than any and all anxiety or worry. Are you in need of The Shalom of Heaven today? Ask that the Lord would make that part of your life "As it is in Heaven." "Shalom I leave with you, my shalom I give to you. Not as the world gives, but as I give to you." John 14:27

Lacking Nothing

There's no doubt that when we think of the picture of heaven, it's a lavish and perfect place. Full of worship, people feasting together, golden streets, mansions, music and dancing. We never hear of working or the need for money in Heaven, just a constant celebration of The One who made this life possible. There are never any tears, and every body is whole, complete and in absolute health. What a place! This same abundance is available to us in Earth, as Jesus died to reconcile us to God so that we could experience the power that works in us and give Him all of the glory.

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever." Ephesians 5:18-19

To fully grasp the power of this beautiful prayer, we must go back a couple chapters to where Jesus was in the middle of teaching the disciples how to pray, he says... "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites (actors and exaggerators)" Looking a bit ahead in Mark 11:23, "boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer - be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours - and if you stand praying and find that you carry something in your hearth against another person, release him and forgive him."

Jesus is saying that Faith & Forgiveness are the keys to seeing our prayers become reality.

He's given us all the answers! God really wants us to experience this abundant life!

"Pray like this: Our Beloved Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the center of which our lives turn, Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is in heaven. We acknowledge you as our Provider of all we need each day." Matthew 8:9-12 tpt
